Main Bhi Edhi

A young boy in the early age of life spent his whole savings to buy an ambulance with devotion to changing the world with that ambulance.

It was 1951 when Abdul Sattar Edhi Purchased an ambulance and ran it into streets of layyari to help the victims. At that time he didn’t even know what he wanted to do but he had a very clear perception in mind “To devote for Humanity”.

From purchasing a single ambulance to running the world's largest ambulance service, nursing homes, orphanages, clinics, women’s shelters and rehab centers for drug addicts and mentally ill individuals all over the world, it took a lot of struggle and determination which is rare nowadays.

It takes a strong vision to build such an empire and Vision of Edhi is very much clear

Humanity is the biggest religion. Edhi spent his whole life for humanity whether it’s planning of childhood or spending pocket money in the early hood or registering the name in the Guiness book of world records, every penny he earned was for others. He was the Richest poor person who never spent a single penny for his or his family’s luxuries.

Edhi was taking care of thousands of people and the livelihood of them was dependant over him only. But soon after the death of Edhi sahib, A worse downfall in donations was seen. Edhi foundation saw deficit after the dismissal of Edhi sahib and still seeing.

To fulfill the needs of those poor souls, Batch-105, Amal academy ran a campaign “Main Bhi Edhi”. In that campaign, we collected funds from street to street.

We went from streets to signals to bazaars for a single cause “Humanity”

People of Pakistan are full of humanity, everyone praised and helped us. it was an amazing experience. Some helped to look signs some funded being asked. Although some people were suspicious over our intentions and didn’t pay. But we are satisfied with the response and are much thankful to them who funded and to those who didn’t.

Started campaign from a single signal and getting the positive response we moved towards bazaars. Shopkeepers welcomed us and appreciated us a lot. They paid more than expectations and were very much satisfied looking at their young generation personifying social issues.

The whole journey was based upon concepts of Edhi sahib. How he used to collect funds from roads keeping signs in hand. With a lot of acceptance and rejection, praising and criticism, it was a journey full of learning.

The problem we realized and worked upon. The response was satisfying. But still, it requires a lot to run the Edhi foundation. To provide food, medication, clothes, etc to those who were dependent upon Abdul Sattar Edhi and now upon us. We have to make sustainable solutions because now “We are Edhi”.

Creation of GOD who has is responsible to help Creation of GOD who need and we have to understand our responsibility and have to help those who are in need. To run funding of the Edhi foundation we have to make sustainable solutions.

• By Placing donation boxes in every street.
• By Paying From given by GOD for his people on a regular basis.
• By buying one dress extra to donate when shop for our family.
• By purchasing some extra ration with the monthly ration of family.
• By spreading realization of needs of poor
• By making everyone to believe “Mein Bhi Edhi”

Spreading smiles and helping others is the purpose of human life and Edhi cherished each and every moment of his life under this purpose. And everyone who is devoting life for Humanity is Edhi and deserves respect and appreciation. We are highly thankful to those who helped and grateful to Abdul Sattar Edhi for spreading humanity and vision of Humanitarianism. He was the biggest Humanitarian and will always be.
